5/2007

8a. Calle 16-23 Zona 1.
Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

One on one instruction.
Volunteer opportunities.
Medical Spanish option.

Cost 150.oo us dollars per week
25 hrs of instruction ( can do less hours if you like)
Includes stay with local family with 3 meals per day.

The school is located about 10 minute walk from Parque CentroAmerica. Directly across from the school is a food market. Nice market to grab some munchies on your break.

The front looks pretty dirty. Inside you will find a nice comfortable setting with friendly staff. You feel like a family attending this school. Every Friday they host a dinner for the students. It's a lot of fun.

I attended this school and enjoyed it very much. My stay with a local family made it unique.  Just drop in and they will place you in a family within a half hour. The main reason I chose this school were the teachers and staff are super friendly. You feel like a big family. Many medical students were in attendance at the time I was there. You can find a cheaper school and save yourself 20 us dollars. But the people are what makes this school special.

The #1 tip for getting ready to travel?

Buy your plane ticket to your destination! I’ve always found that the only way to truly get ready for leaving home is to purchase your plane ticket. That forces you to mentally get all the little stuff done around home.

"Adventure is just bad planning."
