Hell’s Angels in Nicaragua?

steel_angels_emblem

Word on the street was that the Hell’s Angels were rolling into town in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua for a bike rally. Lots of men in military uniforms started to mysteriously arrive in this small seaside town armed with AK-47’s.

About midday the distinct sound of big bore Harleys rumbling through the streets started to drown out the usual daily sounds. Black leather and steel screamed through the side streets (as if to say this is our town tonight.)

Slowly the bars filled up on the main drag and the AC/DC cover band prepared for the wild night.

I’d love to tell you a story of violence as the Hell’s Angels set the town a fire as they rode out the next day, but it was just Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.

I never did see a Hell’s Angels emblem from the USA, but there seems to be a group wearing a distinct skull logo from Costa Rica.

The Hell’s Angels have a long history and their past still provokes the fear of violence.

The #1 tip for getting ready to travel?

Buy your plane ticket to your destination! I’ve always found that the only way to truly get ready for leaving home is to purchase your plane ticket. That forces you to mentally get all the little stuff done around home.

"Adventure is just bad planning."
