Dell Mini 10v Netbook Review
Dell Inspiron Mini 10v Netbook Review
Lugging around a heavy 15 inch laptop in Central America does not seem like a easy task and I have no plans on trying it. So I purchased a Dell Mini 10V netbook to see if it was possible to use as a everyday traveling computer. Is is possible to create basic web pages on a 10 inch netbook? Well I thought I would give it a try so here I am typing away.

I bought a refurbished model from the Dell outlet store for $272.00 dollars out the door. This is my third Dell refurbished computer and I've always been happy with their service.
Dell packs the Dell Mini 10v nice and tight in foam.

First impressions of the Dell Mini 10V out of the box is its a very cool looking machine and the lid gets scuffed up pretty easy. Being a refurbished computer you must expect some blemishes and mine came with some faint scratches on the lid(though my Dell Inspiron 1520 looked like it was never used when I purchased it refurbished). The lid on the Dell Mini 10v is a high gloss finish and easily smudges with finger prints. Plus you can tell it will scratch easily. I bought this computer to haul in my backpack and abuse, so aesthetics are not that important to me.

Windows XP came loaded on the machine and being so use to using Windows Vista on my other machine it's a bummer having to downgrade. So I thought I would give Ubuntu Netbook Remix a try. I downloaded the image file and burned it onto a memory stick and setup a dual boot platform fairly easy. I must say I'm very impressed with the looks and performance of Ubuntu Netbook Remix on the Dell Mini 10v.
