Spanish students in Xela can experience city life, but don't have to go far to experience the natural beauties of Guatemala like hot springs, volcanoes, and indigenous villages. Guatemala is a great country for travelling because of its diverse eco-systems. You can go from hot coastal plains and beaches to cool highland regions to the tropical jungles of the Petén region. Transportation is done easily and inexpensively, and hotels, and restaurants can all be found within any particular budget. Guatemala also sees fewer tourists providing travelers with a unique and authentic experience.

I have been to the Casa Sosa to study Spanish three times and will go back again. It is the best home stay I have been to in Guatemala because the family is all about you learning Spanish. Trinis loves to talk and will keep it lively all day long. They are centrally located to make it easy to get around Zone 1 in Xela where most everything happens. I loved it!
